OUTREACH

PRAYER CHAIN

If you would like to be added to the email prayer chain, you can either email Barb Sjoberg  or the church office.

Prayer is one of the ways we are able to relate directly with god.  A quiet moment of reflection. A talk with Jesus. A recited text celebrating faith. Though very different, all of these are valid definitions for "prayer". Prayer is an intentional and meaningful way that every individual- no matter what age, race or background- can deepen his or her personal relationship with God.- ELCA Prayer Center

PRAYER SHAWL

A prayer shawl is knitted or crocheted shawl that is a spiritual practice for the crafter.  A prayer is said as the shawl is begun; then many prayers are added with the stitches.  The recipient receives the message that many have been and are praying for them. Our Mission is to reach out to those in need with a prayer shawl of prayers and love to comfort, console and strengthen them.  For it to be a reminder of God's promise that He is always with us.  In Christian love and prayer, prayer shawls are delivered either by the Pastors or by members of the congregation.  We have purchased yarn to be crafted into shawls so individuals don't have to buy it on their own. Please contact Dianne Wachsmuth at bdwach61575@gmail.com

SOWING GRACE QUILTERS

The Sowing Grace Quilters meet every Wednesday morning at 9:30.  During this time quilts are tied and bound.  Most are delivered to Lutheran World Relief to be distributed somewhere in the world where they are needed.  Other quilts are set aside to be given to Grace Lutheran members when they graduate from high school or are baptized. Lap quilts are brought to those at the nursing homes.  Anyone who is willing to tie a knot is welcome to join!  You don't have to know how to sew. Contact the church office for Mary Kobberdahl's contact information.

Are you crafty? Do you enjoy making cards??  Then this ministry is for you.  The card making group meets the last Tuesday of each month at 1:00. The card making supplies will be here. If you have adhesive please bring some. The cards then are for sale next to the office window, with proceeds going to the youth.
